DESAM urges

DESAM has urged the authority concerned to take up necessary actions to improve the education facilities of the various schools in remote parts of the State and to take up stringent actions against the teachers who fail to perform their duties diligently .
A press release issued by the deputy secretary, publicity and propaganda DESAM stated that volunteers of the organisation found the Tokpaching Primary school of Tokpaching village under Kakching district in deplorable condition during a special inspection drive .
It pointed out that the school building was quite old and only four teachers were available for the 60 students who attended the school .
The volunteers also learned that the teachers often neglected their duties and failed to attend classes, it added .
It further urged the authority concerned to take up necessary actions to improve the conditions of the school and various other educational institutions present in the remote part of the State and also to take up stringent measures against the teachers who fail to carry out their duties diligently.
