In another act of poll-related violence, armed cadres of a KNF faction which is a signatory to Suspension of Operation pact assaulted four people of Prasain village last night.
Sources said that around 10 armed cadres of KNF came to Prasain village located under Kangpokpi AC in Senapati district at about midnight and forcibly led away four villagers.
After taking the four villagers to a nearby paddy field, the armed cadres asked the villagers who they had voted for.
Fearing for their safety, the villagers replied that they gave their votes to the MSCP candidate who was seemingly supported by KNF.
But contrary to their expectation, the armed cadres asked them as to why they did not give their votes to the Congress candidate.
Soon, the armed cadres started raining blows on the unarmed villagers.
Moreover, the KNF cadres threatened the villagers to leave their village else they would be eliminated in case the Trinamool Congress candidate comes out victorious.
They also threatened the villagers not to inform about the assault to security forces.
