Demanding release of pending salary for 11 months for teachers of Manipur University of Culture at the earliest, a sit-in-protest was staged by Manipur University of Culture Teachers’ Association (MUCTA) at the university campus at Palace Compound today .
Speaking to media persons at the protest site, MUCTA general secretary Dr Irom Robindro said that teachers of the university were conducting classes regularly for the last 11 months but due to the non-release of the pending salary, the aggrieved teachers were compelled to stop taking classes since October 12 .

There has been no positive response from the Government with regard to the demand despite repeated pleas, he rued .
