Imphal, July 23 2017:
The Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR) or Liangmai Students’ Union has endorsed the stand of the Liangmai Naga Council (LNC) that asks any Liangmai individual from the State of Manipur who are associated with any Zeliangrong organisation to withdraw his/her position from the latter organisation(s) immediately.
The LNKR said that it fully “supports” the stand of the LNC on the “Zeliangrong issue” .
As such, the LNKR has asked Liangmai individuals/students from the State of Manipur who are still associated with Zeliangrong bodies anywhere to withdraw his/her position immediately in the interest of the Liangmai community.
The LNKR also said that it will fully endorses whatever course of action or decision is adopted or taken by the LNC in the regard .
Last month, the LNC had stated that, its latest move was necessitated as the Zeliangrong bodies have “failed to address our concerns even after several appeals in the past many years”.The LNC had also stated that “failing to comply to this directive, Liangmai individuals concerned should know that he or she does not represent the Liangmai community and he or she should not claim so” .
The LNC had then ‘requested’ every Naga and other civil organizations to declare null and void if any Liangmai from the State of Manipur “is representing Zeliangrong in their organization(s)” .
