A relief camp for the 13 families, who have deserted their homes at Langol Laimanai after intimidation and killing by some armed men over land dispute there, will be opened at the office of Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai Women's Society under the joint initiative of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai Women's Society, Meira Paibi organisations of Thangmeiband area and the adhoc committee.
After one person was killed and another two injured by some armed persons on May 28 followed by threat against these families to leave Langol Laimanai, about 50 persons belonging to these victimised families have been living without proper dwelling places since then.
Many children of these families have been enduring extreme hardships without homes of their own due to the threat by armed persons besides derailing their schooling and other educational careers, observed president of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur L Memchoubi while briefing media persons today.
She was joined by members of other organisations in her appeal for help towards the relief camp of these victimised families.
