Imphal, December 07 2010:
SK oil dealers from different districts of Manipur including hill districts have demanded the Government to release the pending month quota of SK for distribution among the public.
Addressing a press conference jointly here today, spokesperson of All Manipur SK Oil Dealer and Sub-Dealer Association pointed out that the SK oil quotas for the last five months from April to October have not been issued for distribution among the public.
He further pointed out that on October 28 last, Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas issued an order to uplift the PDS quota including SK oil for the month of April to October within December 31.However.
IOC and the Government has not given the right to the dealers to uplift the SK oil by enclosing a meaningless condition.
The condition stated that the monthly allocation will be released to the concerned Sk oil dealers by IOC only after adequate SK oil stock is inducted into the State.
IOC will also submit a report in this regard to the Government and the Government in turn will issue a separate order for release of SK oil to the districts/SK oils and until such written authorisation is given by the Government, IOC shall not released SK oil, the spokesperson explained.
Setting Dec 10 as the deadline for releasing the pending monthly allocation, the SK oil dealers have also warned of taking recourse to agitation like bandh and blockade if the Government fails to take necessary measures in this regard.
