ASSCDC distributes relief items, urges Government to open CHIC

Awang Sekmai Scheduled Caste Development Committee (ASSCDC) distributed relief items to about 100 households at Awang Sekmai under containment zones.
The items distribution drive was led by ASSCDC vice president Y Sarat Singh and secretary Khwairakpam Ishwarchandra.
The relief items donated today to families in containment areas include potato (2 kg); onion (2 kg) edible oil (750 ml); dal (2kg), packaged salt; rice (5kg).It may be mentioned that ASSCDC had reached out to 70 families on May 15 last.
At the distribution drive, Khwairakpam Ishwarchandra urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh, local MLA and the department concerned to open one Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) at Sekmai Nila Padama Jr Sec School at the earliest.
He then urged the State Government and the local MLA to take responsibility for all eventuality if the CHIC is not opened at the earliest.
It is said that Imphal West DC had approved of opening a CHIC at sekmai Nila Padama Jr.Sec School on May 7 last.
Saying that the number of Covid active cases in Awang Sekmai has touched 200 mark, he appealed to the Government to do the needful at the earliest.
The local MLA paying not attention to the requirement of the Awang Sekmai denizens is upsetting, he added.
