The AMSU will observe the 36th Hunger Marchers' Day tomorrow in remembrance of the killing of Chaobhal, a driver and three students - Nabakumar, Nilmani and Pramodini in the August 27,1965 uprising at Imphal against the administration for causing artificial famine in Manipur.
Floral tributes will be paid at the memorial complex atop the Chinga hillock at 9 am and a public procession will be taken out.
A meeting will be held at Khuman Lampak.
In a leaflet AMSU mentioned the importance of the role of students in fighting the social problems.
Many of the social problems have directly or indirectly affected the students.
Criticizing the present system of education, the AMSU said students should not forget their academic pursuit.
Expressing concern over the rise of "communal politics", it appealed to all the communities to forget their differences and work for unity and integrity of the State.
It appealed to all the people to participate in the 36th Hunger Marchers' Day.
