Imphal, August 26:
The All Manipur Young Pioneers Organization has expressed surprise that the state administration is allegedly remaining indifferent to the plight of people of Manipur, stating that otherwise there is no reasons why it should not go ahead and clear the blockade on National Highway 39 in the Senapati district of Manipur by leaving the highway unprotected from miscreants despite the presence of large numbers of security forces in the state, forcing the people to suffer in such degree.
Development process of Manipur has been seriously impended by frequent imposition of blockades on the two national highways linking Manipur to other states.
The ongoing indefinite blockade has today subjected the state to a famine, and the matter has today gone beyond human tolerance, said the AMYPO warning of the possibility of a violent uprising of the people.
On the other hand, the organizations is observing its 11th foundation anniversary on August 31 at Irabot Bhavan.
Paying of floral tribute tot the martyrs of territorial integrity movement and distribution of gifts to the inmates of children Home will be part of the observation.
A release issued in this regard said since its inception on August 31, 1980, the organization has been incessantly striving to uplift the status of the downtrodden and destitute children in the society.
Though the Constitution of India has directed that education should be compulsorily provided free of cost to the children below 14 years, many downtrodden, impoverished and unaided children are today languishing in factories and hotels, while the authorities are conspiring to privatize education for their own interests.
