Imphal, June 25:
V Rajendran, a resident of Moreh ward number 4 has been abducted by Myanmarese authorities after luring him inside the free trade zone at Namphalong on the Myanmar side of the India-Myanmar border on June 21, according to a complaint filed to the Manipur Human Rights Commission, MHRC by Aneng Gangte, president of the Kuki Women�s Organization for Human Rights.
The Addl Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police Chandel have been informed of the incident but no action has been taken up till date, the petition further complained to the Commission.
In another case MHRC has today directed the DGP to locate the whereabouts of two youths who are said to have been arrested by Assam Rifles troops on June 17and 23 respectively without issuing arrest memo.
The Commission took up the matter after the youth�s father approached the rights panel today.
In the first case, Laishram Munal Singh of Kakwa Naorem Leikai stated that his son L Tomba (24) was picked up from his house on June 17 at around 1.45 am.
No arrest memo was issued by the AR personnel and that his son was yet to be handed over to police even seven days after his arrest.
He also expressed fear for the safety and security of his son.
The other complaint was received from RK Sanahal of Kakwa Laiphrakpam Leikai, Imphal stating that his newly married son RK Bruce Lee (24) was apprehended by AR troops on June 23 at around 11 pm from their residence.
