Imphal, November 21:
A 35 year old person who was undergoing treatment at JN Hospital after being thrashed by unidentified persons at Tronglaobi area of Bishnupur district succumbed to injuries in the early hours today.
The victim identified as Kshetrimayum Munal was grievously wounded and hospitalised since the incident occurred on November 10 night.
Munal is informed to have arrived from Tripura and was plying a rickshaw in Torbung, Phoubakchao and Ikhai areas.
According to family source, Munal was stopped by some persons in inebriated conditions and on refusal to drop them in the late night hours (10 pm) was thrashed severely.
moirang police have registered a case on the incident and the body has been over to family members at RIMS mortuary today.
Bus fired at : The front windshield of an inter-State bus (MN01/1616) service was shattered after armed miscreants opened fire when the vehicle was parked near the gate of one Brahmacharimayum Jiten in Palace Compound.
The incident reportedly took place at around 4.20 am today when the driver's assistant named as Sougrakpam Sanjit was asleep inside.
