Interactive meeting for enhancing legal aid and assistance for vulnerable women

Imphal, May 26 2021:
Manipur State Legal services Authority (MASLSA) organized an online interactive meeting with the panel lawyers deputed at One Stop Centres/ women helpline for enhancing legal aid and assistance for vulnerable women amid the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic today from 1 pm to 2 pm through Jitsi Meet platform, said a press release by MASLSA.
Ojesh Mutum, Member Secretary of MASLSA chaired the online interaction meeting where he interacted and discussed with the panel lawyers with reference to the types of cases referred from One Stop Centers/ Women Helpline, providing effective legal aid and assistance, challenges faced and suggestions for improvement in delivering effective legal aid and services to vulnerable women in the state amid the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 12 panel lawyers deputed at the One Stop Centres/ women helpline of the districts of Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi participated at the programme.
Any vulnerable women that needed support and assistance may reach out to the 181 women helpline number.
