A lady protester said that the Cabinet decision was motivated and it amounts to favouritism.
It should be reviewed at the earliest.
At the same time, secretary of KSDDC S Gouneu reiterated that the biased decision of the Manipur State Cabinet to rename Thangting as Kangvai by totally sidelining genuine option (Khousabung) will be opposed tooth and nail until our demand for reviewing the decision is fulfilled.
Whereas Khousabung is located at the centre of the new SDO/BDO circle which covers 125 odd villages of Churachandpur district, Kangvai, which the State Cabinet so favours lies in the northern most fringe of the new SDO/BDO circle, Gouneu said while adding this is bare injustice.
Intense forms of agitation will be launched in collaboration with like minded civil society organisations if the demand is not met at the earliest, he warned.
