Awareness campaign reaches Ukhrul

Ukhrul, May 12 2018:
A month long awareness campaign initiated by an 18 year old boy from Imphal, N Tompok Meitei on "discrimination against women and children" reached Ukhrul district today.
He was given a warm welcome at Ukhrul police station where an interaction session about his journey was held with the people of Ukhrul.
N Tompok said that he set out on his awareness campaign from April 26 and will conclude on May 26 .
He was impressed with the huge support from people of Ukhrul and sought further support for the rest of his journey.

He claimed that the movement has started to gain momentum and added that no rape cases, molestation or trafficking have been reported during his journey.
Tompok said that an NGO for crime against women had provided immense support in making his campaign successful.
According to him, any financial support from the public to him will be donated to the victims of any discrimination.
