RK Anand stresses on need to tackle COVID-19 effectively

A mass vaccination programme for the final dose of Covid vaccine was held today at Ibudhou Nongshaba Shanglen at Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi.
The mass vaccination programme was jointly organised by Kwakeithel Akham Leikai Youth Club, Nongshaba Club and New Step Organisation of Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi, Ireiba Seva Association Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai, Youth Star Rising Club Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai and Coordinating Committee 21-Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituency under the supervision of former MLA and executive member of BJP Manipur Pradesh, RK Anand.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Anand who is also intending to contest in the upcoming State Assembly Election said that today's mass vaccination programme has been organised in continuation of the five day Covid vaccination camp held at Urban Primary Health Centre, Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai earlier.
He continued that the mass vaccination programme is being conducted in coordination with Imphal West DC, CMO of Imphal West along with the support of top officials of Medical Department.
Talking about the careless attitude of the people after getting vaccinated, he said that the positivity rate is still high in the State inspite of the relentless efforts of the Government and CSOs etc to curb the further spread of the virus.
RK Anand urged all to strictly follow the Covid SOPs and protocol laid by the competent authorities and to help in preventing the possible outbreak of the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic since many experts have opined that the children will be mostly affected during the third wave.
The health care facilities in the State is not well equipped to tackle such outbreak targeting the children therefore one needs to be extra cautious, he added.
In view of the various activities which have gained momentum in connection with the upcoming State Assembly Election, he earnestly appealed all to prioritize tackling COVID-19 first and not to forget that there are many Covid positive cases out there.
He also called for collective efforts to make Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC a Covid free zone.
In today's mass vaccination drive, a help desk was opened by BJP Kisan Morcha Manipur Pradesh and also provided edible items and drinking water to all who came for the vaccination.
