Imphal, February 09:
Francis Ngajokpa, father of Lungnila Elizabeth, whose kidnapping and later brutal murder stirred the collective conscience of the people of Manipur, is a father waiting for the day for justice to prevail in the murder of his little child.
Speaking his heart out to The Sangai Express at his office chamber today, the Education Minister said that his first reaction when he saw the report in which the KCP named the alleged killers of his daughter was one of mixed feeling.
"I wondered whether to believe what was printed or not.
But if it is true then it says that even militants can come up with the right course of action," he observed.
"Let justice prevail," was his prayer.
Recalling his public announcement at the funeral service of his daughter, Francis said, "I have already forgiven the killers of my daughter.
I will not say anything on what to do or not to do on the basis of what the KCP has come out with".
The pain on his face was evident as he went on, "I have lost my daughter.
My family has undergone immense suffering.
Sometimes I think that my little Elizabeth has gone to school and will be back home soon".
Manipur may witness such things in the future, said Francis and added, "Let the law take its own course of action and punish all the wrong doers.
In any case justice should prevail".
The State is today passing through a critical phase and if anyone is found guilty of violating the law then he/she should be pulled up regardless of his/her positions or social standing, said the Minister.
