Khongbal Tangkhul village falls under Saikul Assembly Constituency in Sadar Hills, but the road leading to this village will be constructed under active help from Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency MLA Th Lokeshore.
This was announced by the MLA during a function held at the said village in connection with Somkat Phanit to mark the end of the seed sowing period.
Addressing the gathering the MLA who attended the function as the chief guest said that he was distressed to see the pitiable conditions of the road and bridges leading to the said village and pledged that he would extend all possible help.
Khongbal Tangkhul village is located near Uyumpok.
Giving a patient hearing to the grievances of the people, Lokeshore assured that he would consult with the MLA of Saikul AC Doukhomang and take up work to finish the construction of the road leading to the village.
Urging the people to shed all narrow outlook, the MLA said that there should be no question of whether one is a Naga or a Kuki or a Meitei but all should strive and work together for peaceful co-existence.
All those present raised slogans, "We are one".
Co-ordinator of Manipur Development Society, Dinesh who attended the function as the special guest donated Rs 5000 from his own pocket to the villagers.
After the function, the villagers urged the MLA to inspect the one and only UJB school at the village as well as the Pushang bridge, which has been washed away by the water.
The bridge connects the village with Khamenlok and at present there is only a wooden plank to serve as a bridge.
