United Villages and Clubs' Organisation (UVACO) Nambol and Ichum Kom Village Authority sought clarification from the concerned on bashing up of T Songleisong of Ichum Keirap Kom, Senapati district by around five inebriated gunmen on the night of August 15.According to a press release of UVACO, Songleisong was brought out by around five inebriated gunmen on the pretext to tell them the way to Waroiching.
When they crossed the village playground, Songleisong was forcibly tied his hands and asked to join underground.
When he refused, the gumnen bashed him up severely and forced him to go with them.
At that time, a call from Songleisong's house came on his mobile phone.
Taking advantage of it, Songleisong requested his captives to pass urine there and gave information regarding the incident to his family.
Then a large number of villagers of Sadu Chiru, Loibon Khunou, Waroiching Tingkai Khunou, Leimram, Heinoubok and Irengbam rescued Songleisong from the hands of the gunmen.
Sensing the danger, the gunmen left the scene before the crowd reached them, said the press release.
