Imphal, August 17:
Following landslides along the National Highway 39 at Lalmati and Zosoma in Nagaland, transportation of essential commodities including petrol and diesel to Manipur has been stopped.
According to an official of the IOC, over 50 oil tankers are currently being stranded along the way following the landslides.
Before the occurrence of landslides, petrol, diesel and kerosene were transported to Imphal till August 6.But after that no transportation has been possible.
It is said the if the situation remains then it is likely to cause shortage of oil in the State.
As no vehicle could passed through the landslides area, transportation of oil would stop for some days, the official added.
