A Missing Persons Cell has been opened in the State Police Department.
The cell is located in CID HQ, Imphal and LK Haokip, SP CID (Crime Branch) is the nodal officer.
A statement issued by the police PRO Vandana Karki said aggrieved persons may contact telephone nos.221501 and 220504.The missing report may be given either verbally or in writing.
Meanwhile, police today arrested two persons including a former Manipur Rifles personnel on the charge of extorting money.
Rs 500 and telephone numbers were recovered from them, police said.
On getting information that two persons have been using a PCO at Minuthong to extort money a police team was deployed near the area.
The team saw two persons taking money from an individual and they were arrested.
They are identified as Loitongbam Bidyamohon (42) of Kumbi Terakhong, a former MR and Soraisam Naobi alias Jiten (38) of Monsangei Mayai Leikai belonged to PREPAK.
Police said they used the name of one Loya of KYKL (O).
They threatened individuals for extortion, police said.
Meanwhile Imphal East police led by SDPO detected and seized one kg of no.4 heroin powder from one Laishram Jiten Singh (40) of Heirok Part-II Mayai Leikai from Ayang Palli today.
The seizure was made while the police team was conducting intensive frisking on Ayang Palli Road.
