DC Jiribam inaugurates 20 bedded COVID-19 Isolation Ward

Jiribam, June 05 2021:
The 20 bedded COVID-19 Isolation Ward in District Hospital, Ningshingkhul, Jiribam was inaugurated by Jiribam Deputy Commissioner, W Malemnganba Chenglei, IAS, today.
The programme was attended by Jiribam Superintendent of Police, A Ghanashyam Sharma, MPS; Chief Medical Officer, E Okendro Singh and staff of the Isolation Ward.
Speaking on the occasion, W Malemnganba Chenglei expressed his joy over the inauguration of the 20 bedded COVID-19 Isolation Ward and stated that the people of Jiribam would no longer go to Silchar and Imphal for medical treatment.
He mentioned that the people who were tested COVID-19 positive in the mass COVID test conducted in the district could opt for Home Isolation or stay at the CHIC in Jiribam Higher Secondary and Borobekra Higher Secondary.
The DC also expressed his appreciation to doctors, police personnel and members of the Municipal Council, Panchayat, local clubs for their hard work and sacrifices to bring the COVID-19 pandemic in control.
A Gyanashyam Sharma extended his appreciation to the doctors, nurses and the District Administration while cautioning the public that the pandemic is not over and it is essential that everyone should strictly follow the SOPs mandated by the Government.
Dr E Okendro Singh stated that the new Isolation ward would serve a vital role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also appealed to the State Government and concerned authority to provide sufficient medical equipment and medical staff to serve the people efficiently especially during the public.
