Rescue of kids : Two still missing

Even as a Committee � constituted by the Ukhrul DC in the light of the rescue of children in Rajasthan a few days back� submitted a detailed report of the rescued children to the Social Welfare Director on March 21, it has been learnt that two more kids from the district are still with the owner of the children Home where 51 others were rescued in Rajasthan.
Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul constituted a committee comprising five officers of the District including Assistant Commissioner to DC; DPO(S/W); SDO, Ukhrul; SDO, Chingai and SDPO Chingai as members of the committee.
The Committee had submitted the detailed report of the rescued children to the Director of Social Welfare on March 21 .
Of the 21 children who were rescued in Rajasthan on March 12, 17 are from Ukhrul District.
The children hail from five different villages of Ukhrul district.
It has also been said that two more kids are still with the owner of the Home (Jacob John) and yet to be rescued.
With the initiative of the District Administrator, ICDS Dept and CWC Ukhrul, a detailed report of the children could be worked out.
The DPO recalled the rescue of 23 children of the district from Kerala last year.
The ICDS, Ukhrul has been co-ordinating with the different organizations/ NGOs to sensitize the people of Ukhrul district on the menace.
The Department is also arranging bridge course and education in consultation with the District administrator.
The Department has sought co-operation from concerned parents in monitoring and implementation of their policies in the days to come.
