Imphal, August 02 2021:
The NSCN (IM) has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should appoint his representative to pick up the political talks with NSCN (IM) and take the Framework Agreement to a logical conclusion.
NSCN (IM) said this in a lengthy statement released on the eve of the 6th anniversary of the signing of the historic agreement and added that the FA has completed 6 years without any positive response or result from the Government of India (GoI) .
However, Naga people have been patient enough waiting for the Gol to act upon its own commitment.
The outfit asserted that 'Naga National Flag' and 'Yehzabo' (Constitution) have always been the demand of the Naga people and without it everything that has been agreed upon will be redundant.
The Gol should also not try to project FA as something that was done under the purview of the Indian Constitution, added NSCN (IM) .
It is noteworthy to remember that all the past agreements on Naga political issue including the 9 Point Agreement of 1947; the 16 Point Agreement of 1960 and the Shillong Accord of 1975 all ended in failure as it failed to get the support of the Naga people as these agreements were short of Naga people's historical and political rights, added the statement.
However, NSCN (IM) is determined to stick to the FA in order to bring a permanent peace and development in not only Naga inhabited areas but in the whole North Eastern region provided GoI does not stray from the ambit of the FA.
added the statement.
