A three member team of the Kuki Students Organization (KSO) and the All Kuki Women Union Manipur (AKWUM) left the State for Delhi yesterday to hold talks with Prime Minister on the issue of the extension of ceasefire of the NSCN (IM) ceasefire to Manipur.
The team comprised of KSO president Paokam Haokip, AKWAM general secretary Hebah Kipgen and Hoinu Misao of its Sadar Hills branch.
KSO headquarters media and tribunal secretary Don Morgan Kipgen said today that the team will discuss the validity, legality and constitutional ethics of the ceasefire with Prime Minister and press him to withdraw it from Manipur immediately.
The KSO functionary further condemned the police crack down on protestors at Shamu Makhong yesterday and has also shared the sorrow of the bereaved families.
In the meantime, the team of the United People�s Action Committee which left Imphal on July 15 has reached New Delhi safely to continue the movement against the truce extension, a release of the committee said today.
As part of the programme scheduled to be carried out in the national capital, the committee will organize rallies, hunger strikes, dharna and an exhibition of the photographs of June 18 public uprising against the ceasefire extension.
The photo exhibition will be opened on July 23 in connection with the commencement of monsoon session of Parliament on the day, the statement said.
