Missing truck found

Bishnupur police have recovered a truck which went missing since October 1 .
Briefing media persons at Bishnupur District Police Headquarters today, Addl SP M Rameshwar said that district police, on receiving information about presence of a truck in Leikinthabi and Tingri areas, went to the spot and recovered the truck on November 8 .
The truck (AS-01DD/7563) was driven by one Konjengbam Jiten (30) of Tronglaobi.
Jiten reported to truck owner Brij Kumar Shah (35) of Nagamapal that the truck went missing since October 1 .
In connection with the case, driver Jiten was pulled up on October 8 and he is currently under judicial custody.
Police investigation revealed that Jiten in cahoot with one Mayengbam Prem (31) of Dimapur and one Mono (30) of Bokajan handed over the truck to some unknown persons Maharabi at around 3.30 pm of October 1 .
In the meantime, Prem and Mono contacted and asked the unknown persons to sell off the truck secretly.
For 4/5 days after the truck was handed over to the unknown persons, Jiten did not give any information to the truck owner nor did he go to the owner's home, Addl SP Rameshwar said.
However, flour (Atta) loaded in the truck was not found when the truck was recovered on November 8 and the registration number was also changed to MN-01/0248 .
Further investigation is on to pull up Prem and Mono, added the Addl SP.
