Imphal, October 17 2021: One Khundrakpam Shantibala of Moidangpok Awang Leikai has refuted the claims made by former Konthoujam MLA K Sarat in media that he faced a life attempt threat, terming it as baseless accusation.

Addressing a press meet held at Manipur Press Club here Saturday, Shantibala recalled that on October 12, her brother and his two friends were visiting Khumbong Bazar, when they picked up a wallet with Rs 580 inside.

The trio talked to people nearby, who revealed that the ex-MLA was visiting a residence in Khumbong, as per the gossips of the people.

The two then went to return the wallet, but were told that the ex-MLA was not at the house, following which the three people returned and went to their respective homes.

When they later called up the former MLA's wife regarding the recovery of the wallet, assurances were given for recollecting the same.

However, contrary to expectations, claims were made that a life attempt was made on the ex-MLA, Shantibala said.
