OSC Ukhrul organises awareness programme on "Women's Rights"

Ukhrul, October 17 2021:
One Stop Centre (OSC), Ukhrul District on Sunday organised a one day awareness programme on "Women's Rights" at Mount Sinai College in Ruhm Tang.
During the programme, Centre Administrator of OSC Ukhrul, Chonchuirinmayo Luithui spoke on "Women Rights" and the service given by OSC.
"Women's rights are human rights.
It is just that the concern rights are focused on women", said the Centre Administrator while adding that fighting violence against women should be everyone's responsibility.
Para Legal of OSC Ukhrul, Shungmichon Vashum also spoke on Child rights with special emphasis on POCSO Act, 2012.She mentioned that it is essential for everyone to be aware of the various rights and protections guaranteed as well as the responsibilities entrusted to the people by the Act.

It may be mentioned that the OSC, Ukhrul District has been functioning since October, 2019 .
Recently, in an online survey commissioned by the World Health Organisation, it was listed as one of the best performing OSCs in India along with other 114 centres, out of the functioning 699 centres.
In this regard, Chonchuirinmayo Luithui said, "such recognition is very encouraging because our work can be very intense, considering the irregular payment of the honoraria and financial constraint".
The programme was held in two sessions.
The first session was conducted with residents of Eden Home while the second session was organised with the locals of Lanai Tang.
Over 120 persons took part in both the sessions held today.
