Health card registration, medical camps held

A programme for registration of Ayushman Bharat scheme for CMHT to PMJAY converted beneficiaries and KYC linkage for Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries was held at the private residence of Yaiskul MLA Thokchom Satyabrata Singh on Monday and Tuesday during which a total of 637 were benefited.
Speaking on the side lines, MLA Satyabrata assured that benefits of all state and central government-sponsored schemes will be extended to each and every person residing under Yaiskul Assembly Constituency.
On the other hand, a medical team led by Dr Ksh Kala organised a free medical camp for the residents of Sajiwa relief camp on Tuesday.
Out of about 100 people screened at the camp, four were found to have heart-related issues, 14 had high BP and 14 were diabetics while 20 children had flu.
Benefits such as screening for BP, blood sugar, body weight, ECG and medicines were provided to those in need.
Speaking to the media, Dr Kala informed that the health camp was organised with the aim to provide the much needed health check-up for the displaced people.
While informing that similar camps will also be conducted at other relief camps as well, Dr Kala expressed gratitude to Imphal East CMO and others for their assistance in organising the camp.
Meanwhile, a free eye check-up camp was jointly organised by Aadarsh Eye Clinic and E-Pao Tengbang Lup at the Clinic's Soibam Leikai premises on Tuesday.
During the camp, screening for visual acuity, glass prescription, intra ocular pressure, diabetic retinopathy, fundus examination and glaucoma were provided.
A total of 45 individuals were screened for treatment and discount of 40 to 70 per cent offered on purchase of spectacle frames and 10 per cent on lenses.
Speaking on the sidelines, E-Pao general secretary Soibam Noren pointed out increase in rate of eye infections among adults as well as children due to prolonged exposure to mobile phones and other light-emitting electronic gadgets.
He added that Tuesday's camp was aimed at addressing the need for regular eye check-up among the public.
