Myanmar Meeteis appeal for help

Meetei population in Myanmar, who are facing the brunt of civil unrest and Covid-19 pandemic, have appealed for help from the people of the state and the government as well.
In a statement, Indo-Myanmar Border Traders' Union (IMBTU) said that Meeteis in Myanmar are now facing the impact of Covid-19 and seeking help from the state and its people.
Consequent to their request, the government had allowed one way passage for transporting Covid relevant medicines and medical items through Indo-Myanmar border gate 1 and 2.The union is now preparing to send the assistance to the Myanmar Meeteis, the statement conveyed, while urging the people of the state to contribute their mite in this humanitarian effort.
It farther informed that one can visit the union's office at Babupara or contact mobile numbers 9436027224 or 8837417270 to make contributions.
One can also donate to the union's bank account number 048405008003, IFSC Code PUNB0048420 of Punjab National Bank, Paona Bazar branch, the statement said while urging the public to contribute whatever they could.
