Water supply disruption peeves Kwakeithel locals

While conveying that prolonged unavailability of water has led to various challenges for the local population with many residents resorting to purchasing water from private water tankers resulting in substantial financial, Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai Meira Lup urged the government authority to expedite the water supply scheme repair works to address the chronic problem of acute shortage of water supply.
In a release, Lup secretary P Bina Devi informed that the locality has been grappling with water supply disruptions for the past eight months due to persistent leakages at multiple points in the distribution network.
Despite continuous efforts made by the Public Health and Engineering Department to address the issue, sluggish repairing of the damaged parts is causing distress among the affected residents.
The Lup also reportedly petitioned Keishamthong MLA Nishikant Sapam and Public Health and Engineering Department executive engineer demanding restoration of regular water supply and waiving of tax for those months which faced supply interruption, but without any positive response so far, Bina lamented.
