100 years of Liangmai Christianity celebrated

Liangmai Christian Churches, Manipur (LBCM) celebrated 109 years of Liangmai Christianity in Manipur under the theme 'The truth has set us free' and commemorated Apou Namrijinang, the Liangmai Christian pioneer who embraced Christianity in 1914, at Liangmai Baptist Centre Church, Lower Makhan on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A release issued by LBCA informed that the celebration was inclusive of all denominations namely Baptist, Seventh Day Adventist, Roman Catholic and Sunday Fundamental Churches.
To mark the beginning, the celebration flag was hoisted by elder WK Mazangbou of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Kanglatongbi on Tuesday.
The association's executive secretary Chabonjinang Thi-umai unveiled the Monolith which reminded thousands of delegates that the Lord Jesus Christ set them free from the bondage of sin and also encouraged them not to use their spiritual liberty as a license to break the law of God and the land, but to serve the Lord and mankind.
A celebration souvenir was also released by its former president R Charaibou, it added.
