Imphal, December 10 2021: In connection with the ensuing Manipur Legislative Assembly elections, a training programme for political parties and media persons was held on Friday at Panchayat Bhavan of Imphal East DC Complex.

The training conducted by District Election Officer/DC focused on usage of EVM/ VVPATS and other election related processes.

Imphal East Zilla Parishad CEO and nodal officer Dr N Johnson briefed the participants on election training, expenditure monitoring, electoral roll, SVEEP, etc.

Meanwhile, District Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) nodal officer also presented a power-point presentation on the role of MCMC regarding paid news and certification of advertisements related to political parties and candidates.

Other officials also demonstrated and briefed the participants on handling EVMs/ VVPATs.

Representatives belonging to various political parties and media houses attended the training programme.
