AR extends help to Mao villagers

Imphal, June 08 2021:
In its relentless pursuit to help the villagers and as a part of social responsibility during the trying and testing time of COVID, Maram Battalion under the aegis of Jwalamukhi sector/ IGAR (E) reached out to the villagers of Mao sub-division on Monday.
Troops of COB Mao, 33 Assam Rifles distributed essential items including ration to less fortunate and needy households in Pudunamai and Chowainu villages.
A total of 35 households in the area were benefitted from the act of Assam Rifles, said an AR release.
Assam Rifles understood the hardships faced due to COVID-19 pandemic thus identified such households which are dependent on daily wages and made a humble effort to contribute to the social cause, it said.
Mao Coy commander also interacted with the village authority to spread a word about Covid-19 protocols and urged everyone to follow the Covid protocols.
The village authorities, villagers have expressed their gratitude towards the act of kindness and thanked the efforts of Assam Rifles, said a release.
