State records highest ever one day COVID-19 fatality with 10

The State recorded the highest ever COVID-19 deaths during the last 24 hours with as many 10 persons succumbing to the virus.
The total death toll has jumped to 273 after 10 persons aged 69 (male, Ukhrul), 63 (male, Imphal West), 47 (male, Imphal West), 30 (male, Imphal West), 62 (female, Bishnupur), 44 (male, Imphal East), 75 (male, Imphal East), 90 (male, Kangpokpi), 55 (male, Imphal West and 76 (male, Imphal East) expired at RIMS, Shija Hospital and JNIMS.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 161 people including one personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, Maipakpi Hospital, CMC, Little Clinic, Acme Hospital, Shija Hospital, Christian Hospital, Swiss Clinic, Hillside Hospital, Raj Medicity, Escent Diagnostics, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Tamenglong, Ukhrul, Senapati, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Jiribam, Pherzawl, Noney and Babina Diagnostics.
The 160 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (69), Imphal East (26), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (10), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (6), Ukhrul (3), Senapati (2), Kangpokpi (4), Churachandpur (21), Pherzawl (1), Jiribam (4) and Noney (6) .
All of them are locals who do not have any significant travel history.
On the other hand, 198 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (2), home isolation (119), RIMS (28), JNIMS (5), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (12), Lanva (1), CCC UNACCO (6), Sadbhavna (1), RD Wing (9), Ukhrul (5), Thoubal (7) and Noney (3).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 24,910 (general population 21,828 and Central security personnel 3,082) .
It includes 3,236 active cases (general population 2,938 and Central security personnel 298) and 21,401 discharged cases (general population 18,621 and Central security personnel 2780) .
The recovery rate as on Sunday is 85.91 per cent.
A late report informed that out of 159 samples tested, today JNIMS, 29 were found infected by the virus.
