Evoking relevant provisions under the Right to Information Act, a complaint has been lodged against alleged denial of fund meant for material components amounting to Rs 22 lakhs under MGNREGS in connection with construction of about 4 km long road in Longpi Kachui village of Ukhrul district.
Though the fund had been allegedly withdrawn by the Deputy Commissioner and the Sub-Divisional Officer, the same has not been provided to the villagers/job card holders concerned.
Talking to The Sangai Express in this regard, headman of Longpi Kachui village Vaoyang R Shimray informed that work programme for construction of the road from Longpi Kachui village to Masahan village under Chingai sub-division of Ukhrul district had been sanctioned under MGNREGS in 2008-09 .
