The JAC Against the Unnatural Death of Oinam Rex has threatened to launch different modes of agitation in associa-tion with student bodies and civil society organisations if the facts and circumstances leading to the death of Oinam Rex are not established within three days.
Speaking to media persons at Ningomthong today, JAC convenor Khwairakpam Iboyaima said that the JAC's and the local people's suspicion about the circumstances leading to the death of Rex has been heightened after post mortem examination was done today.
The hostel warden of Temple of Learning, Can-chipur was saying that he took down Rex after he was found hanging.
Then he contradicted himself by saying that Rex was taken down by three students of the hostel.
Rex was found hanging inside a dormitory on the third floor of the hostel.
The roof is covered by GI sheets and the framework is made of tubular pipes.
Rex was reportedly found hanging from a tubular pipe.
Two desks were also found piled up one over another.
It was said that another student was found dead in the same dormitory earlier.
The dormitory was vacant and its door was locked from outside and its access was possible only through a ventilator, Iboyaima said.
One teacher was reportedly saying that the dormitory was being used by some students for taking intoxicating substances and other secretive activities.
Iboyaima went on to question as to why the dormitory was not fenced off if it was known that some students were using the dormitory for unwanted activities.
The school authority ought to come out with a clarification on this matter, the convenor said.
He also appealed to police to investigate into the controversial death thoroughly.
The JAC was keeping silence on the assurance of an Additional SP that the facts and circumstances leading to the death of Rex would be established by June 16 .
If the facts and circumstances leading to the death of Rex are not established within the next three days, JAC would launch all kinds of agitation in association with student bodies and civil society organisations, Iboyaima said.
