In an exclusive chat with this correspondent, LH Ngathingshim admitted that his teaching experience helped him a lot in cracking the MCSCC exam.
"I choose career in civil service over the teaching profession as I can serve the people directly at various levels," he said while pledging to work sincerely and effectively up to the expectation of the people.
"I have been teaching economic theories and policies in the classroom but I have always wanted to be more directly involved in policy formulations and their implementations," Ngathingshim said.
He credited his success to his family for their unceasing support and firm faith on him.
He also acknowledged the support of relatives, friends and the Church for his remarkable success.
Ngathingshim also expressed his faith in the MPSC which in his perspective was 'clean' and 'fair.' He read NCERT textbooks for the GS papers besides reading The Hindu, Economic and Political Weekly, CS Chronicle and Yojana.
His piece of advice to aspirant candidates is to be ambitious.
And to pursue that ambition with firm determination.
Some brilliant students wasted their time due to lack of ambition, he observed.
