Bikers to promote forth-coming Manipur Sangai Festival

Members of Royal Riders Manipur will set off on a State wide tour from tomorrow to promote the forth-coming Manipur Sangai Festival.
Speaking to newspersons at Manipur Press Club today, Royal riders president RK Tombisana informed that the tour of nine districts of Manipur will culminate on the day of the festival's inauguration on November 21 .
Stating that the journey on bike will be to promote the festival and create awareness on various issues, he expressed that members of the biker club are fully aware and convinced that development of Manipur could be ensured only through tapping the huge potential of tourism industry in the State.
Further conveying that with the approval of the Tourism Department members of Royal Riders Manipur would be covering all the nine districts of Manipur, Tombisana said the first day of the tour tomorrow will cover Imphal West, Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts.
From November 10 the riders will reach out to the people of Senapati and Ukhrul district while in the third leg of the tour starting from November 17 the riders would head for Tamenglong district.
On November 20 and 21, the riders will proceed for thoubal and Chandel district before winding up the tour at Hapta Kangjeibung in Imphal East district where the annual festival would be held, Tombisana maintained.
As a part of the tour, the riders would put up banners/hoardings for promotion of the festival at all the district headquarters in addition to launching poster campaign and street corner meetings addressed by resource persons on tourism.
Highlighting that during the November 23-27 Manipur Sangai Festival a special programme focused on promoting and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the five hill districts of Manipur would be organised, he also informed that the main attractions of the festival would be presentation and promotion of indigenous and adventure sports and indigenous food festival .
