Imphal, May 26 2015 :
BJP National executive member Tapir Gao has categorically asked all militant groups currently under truce pacts either with the Government of India or the Government of Manipur or both not to interfere or pose hurdles to the ADC election.
BJP Manipur Pradesh celebrated the first anniversary of the incumbent NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at their Nityaipat Chuthek office today.
Speaking at the occasion, Tapir Gao stated that NSCN-IM should stop interfering in the ADC election and abstain from lending their weight in support of NPF candidates in Naga dominated areas.
Claiming that he had talked with NSCN-IM leaders at their Hebron camp, Tapir Gao conveyed that no directive was given to NSCN-IM cadres to interfere or join the election process as told by the outfit's leaders.
As NSCN-IM is under a ceasefire agreement with the Government of India, it should adhere to the ground rules and guidelines.
Likewise, UG groups under SoO pact should stay away from the ADC election, Tapir Gao asserted.
He then asked the State Government to take up all necessary measures in order to protect citizens and their properties and also to avert any form of subversive activities.
He also questioned the inaction of the State Government when armed cadres of KNF(N) have been openly bullying people in Saikul area.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba said that the prestige and economy of India were pushed to the nadir during the 10 years of Congress rule.
Even though Chief Minister O Ibobi has been ruling the State for the past 10 years, Manipur is yet to figure in the growth map of India.
The inability to start construction of sports university after the Central Government has sanctioned Rs 100 crore exposes lack of sincerity on the part of the State Government.
In addition, many promising welfare schemes launched by the Prime Minister have been delayed in Manipur as the State Government is not cooperative enough.
For Manipur to join the political revolution sweeping across the country, it is imperative to root out the Congress Government, Chaoba asserted.
He went on to claim that the country's economy has been surging and there is social security since the BJP-led NDA came to power.
Development of the North East region is a top priority of the Government of India, and Manipur is being given special attention, Chaoba added.
BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary M Ashnikumar too spoke at the function.
