Imphal, June 21:
The Manipur Human Rights Commission today served notices to the chief secretary, Manipur, and the director general of police, Manipur, after registering a suo motu case on the incident of June 18 which left 13 persons dead and many others injured as a result of police firing, as reported in local, national and international media.
The commission has asked the chief secretary and the DGP to submit a detailed report on the matter.
The DGP has been further asked to submit copies of FIRS registered, if any, relating to the deaths and the progress of investigation so far.
He is also to supply copies of the post-mortem conducted on all the 13 bodics along with their photographs and to indicate whether video recording was done during the post-mortem.
The DGP has also been asked to individually submit copies of the maps of the place of occurrence and spots where all the 13 persons were shot dead.
Moreover, he has also been asked to submit the list of persons injured during the incident.
