Chief Minister O Ibobi kicked off the 1st phase of the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme at a simple function held at the Chief Minister's Secretariat Conference Hall today.
Speaking at the function, the Chief Minister urged the people of the State to extend all possible cooperation and help the Govt in eradicating Polio from the State.
Stating that Indian Govt had launched a nation wide Polio immunization from 1995, he said that the Govt's endeavor to wipe out Polio would be meaningless until and unless all parents concerned cooperate.
The immunization programme would be undertaken in two phases, he added.
Health and Family Welfare Minister L Nandakumar attended the function as the president.
Meanwhile, 130 Bn CRPF also organized a Pulse Polio camp at Lamphelpat today.
The camp was inaugurated by unit commandant DS Bains.
