TDC donates Rs 1 lakh to State AIPMT topper

The Transporters' and Drivers' Council (TDC) has donated Rs one lakh to Kangabam Alex who scored the highest mark among all candidates from the State who appeared in the AIPMT.
A team led by TDC president H Ranjit and Department of Personnel Deputy Secretary A Subash went to Alex's home at Sega Road, Khwairakpam Leikai this morning and donated Rs one lakh for the boy's medical course.
During a brief interaction with the visiting team, Alex's mother Leima narrated the difficulties she endured in her struggle to send her son to school.
She wished that her son may successfully complete the medical course with the help of people and he would serve the public in return.
The team led by Ranjit also went to the house of Salam Kennedy who secured 63rd rank in the AIPMT merit list at Singjamei Chinga Makha Liwa Lambi and gave a cash reward of Rs 50,000 .

Then the team went to Thangmeiband Lourungpurel Leikai and donated another Rs 50,000 to Langpoklakpam Priti who secured 3rd position in the class XII Exam, Arts stream conducted by COHSEM.
Priti lost her parents in childhood and she is being looked after by her aunts.
She scored letter marks in five subjects.
Later speaking to media persons, Ranjit said that TDC extended a helping hand for higher education of the three bright but poor students in response to their families' concern for educational expenses.
Earlier, TDC extended a similar monetary assistance to a student called Julia from Ningthoukhong.
TDC, by extending monetary assistance to students, is not seeking popularity or credit.
Apart from development of transport infrastructure, TDC assumes they have a moral obligation to help groom bright, young students, he said.
Ranjit said that TDC would help bright students facing financial difficulties in future too.
