On the eve of the New Year, Governor SS Sidhu has greeted the people of Manipur, praying that the New Year will bring peace, bonhomie and harmony in the State.
He further appealed to all to come forward, cutting the barriers of caste, creed and religion to participate in the noble task of ensuring peace and also to work for progress and prosperity of Manipur.
The Governor also conveyed his best wishes for Gaan-Ngai and Idul-Zuha festivals.
In his New Year message, Chief Minister O Ibobi called upon the people to work hard and to usher in an era of peace and development in Manipur.
Ibobi also conveyed best wishes on the occasions of Idul-Zuha and Gaan-Ngai.
The All India Students' Federation, Manipur State Council has also greeted the students and teachers of the State on the eve of New Year.
NCP Manipur Pradesh has called upon the people of the State to wipe out all animosity and misunderstanding with the arrival of New Year and Idul-Zuha.
The Sadar Bazar Jame Masjid Managing Committee has also wished the people of Manipur Id Mubarak and happy New Year.
Let peace and unity reign in Manipur, said AMMOCOC in its New Year and Idul-Zuha messages.
Conveying best wishes on the eve of the Gaan-Ngai festival, ACOAM-Lup prayed that this festival may strengthen the fraternal ties among all the ethnic groups of Manipur.
The All Zeliangrong Students' Union also conveyed warm greetings on the eve of Gaan-Ngai, Emoinu, Idul-Zuha and the New Year.
