BPAP ventilators, cash donated to CM

In support of the government of Manipur's efforts to tackle the second wave of Covid-19, a group of local NGOs supported by a global network of volunteers under the aegis of the Oxygen Exchange platform have come together to provide much-needed BPAPs to the government.
The 50 ventilator units, funded by ACT Grants and Swasth Alliance, were handed over on Friday to chief minister N Biren Singh.
According to a release, Oxygen Exchange is a platform run by volunteers who have been monitoring the oxygen demand-supply patterns in various states in India.
The volunteers identified a gap in Manipur and therefore, decided to work with various donors, NGOs, government and suppliers to fill this gap.
The platform is supported locally by commissioner-cum-secretary (PHED/Agriculture/MAHUD) Nidhi Kesarwani, State Health Agency CEO Laltanpuii Vanchhong and a team representing the MaolKeki Foundation, STEP North East, HIGHLAND and Seva Bharati, it added.
Meanwhile, Republican Party of India (Athawale) Manipur president Maheshwor Thounaijam donated Rs 3 lakh to the CM Covid-19 Relief Fund on Saturday while Central High School, Chalou under Lamlai AC contributed Rs 1 lakh to the Relief Fund.
