One day legal awareness camp on Right to Information held

Imphal, May 02 2015 :
A one day legal awareness camp on Right to Information Act (RTI), 2005 was held at Leikoiching Village, Senapati district on Friday.
It was jointly organized by the All Tribal Disabled Union Manipur (ATDUM) and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Senapati.
Assistant Professsor, Human Rights Center, Manipur University Dr.Gaikhamsen attended as resource person and Headman Leikoiching Village Paisho, Principal, Paramount Standard English School Silla J Konghay, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Senapati Wisdom Kamodang attended as special guest respectively.
Speaking on the occasion ATDUM General Administrative Secretary, T.Chuongsin, the camp will give awareness not only to the general public but also to the physically challenged persons.
She acknowledged on how to avail and seek information of our rights and to make personally informative about every system and programs of the government.
While Gaikhamsen explained the rules of the RTI Act, 2005 and ways to seek information from any part of the governing body by a citizen.
Gaikhamsen said every section of the citizen can exercise their own rights through this Act.
He appealed to the weaker section of the society including persons below the poverty line, differently abled persons and women to avail their rights and have equal opportunity in the society.
CJM Wisdom Kamodang spokes about the importance of law, and how to avail legal help from the legal services authority by every citizen.
He said that the Legal Services Authority is ready to help every section of the society.
Various physically challenged persons, students, local youth, women and villagers attended in the camp.
