Covid vaccination, testing held at Monsang Pantha

As Covid-19 is spreading amongst the population in rural areas of Manipur, Chandel district health department under the guidance of the district administration has been rigorously working to give complete vaccination to the people and carry out timely mass testing to prevent spread of the virus in the district.
Accordingly, mass Covid-19 testing was carried out on Monday at Monsang Pantha community hall by Chandel district health department in collaboration with Monsang Pantha village authority.
During the mass testing, samples of 192 villagers were examined and no one tested positive for the infectious disease.
Monsang Pantha village authority headed by the village chief has been motivating the villagers of 18 years and above to get vaccinated against Covid-19.So far, all eligible villagers have taken the first dose of the vaccine, except for 6 persons who are bedridden and under medication.
Among others, village chief Ng Vincent Konishing has been regularly reminding the villagers to follow Covid-19 SOP and not to defy curfew imposed by the district administration.
Meanwhile, Konishing expressed gratitude to Chandel district administration and health department for full coverage of the Covid-19 mass vaccination on Sunday and the mass testing of 192 persons covering all families of Monsang Pantha village on Monday.
He also urged the villagers to continue taking utmost care to avoid mass gatherings and venturing out of homes unnecessarily so that the community can be safeguarded from Covid-19, the release added.
