Women home guards on CCC duty plea for washroom

Bishnupur, June 08 2021:
Women home guards posted at the Covid Care Centre (CCC) opened at the building of Bishnupur Municipal Council office (erstwhile Mini Secretariat), to the north of Loukoipat are facing a lot of inconveniences due to absence of a toilet, urinal shed and wash room.
The CCC was opened following the onset of first wave of the pandemic on September 16, 2020, as part of the government's response to the public concerns over close location of the erstwhile CCC to the Covid Isolation ward of District Hospital Bishnupur.
In accordance to the orders of Bishnupur DC, repairing commenced on July 20 of the same year and the CCC was opened almost two months later.
The 75-bedded CCC was formally inaugurated by then then health minister L Jayantakumar, in the presence of Health director Dr K Rajo, Oinam AC MLA and MPCB-KVIB chairman L Radhakishor, Covid-19 Relief Committee Bishnupur advisor N Sanajaoba, DC, SP and CMO Bishnupur.
However, women home guards posted at the centre conveyed that they are facing immense hardship due to lack of a proper urinal shed, toilet and wash room.
As such, they drew the attention of the authority concerned and urged for initiating appropriate action at the earliest.
