The JAC against the brutal killing of Langpoklakpam Ningol Shijagurumayum (Ongbi) Ronibala alias Romita has reiterated that it would not claim Ronibala's body until the report of post mortem is furnished and demanded immediate handing over of the post mortem report to the JAC and family.
The JAC convened a public meeting regarding the suspicious death of Ronibala at Kanto Sabal relief camp on Friday.
During the meeting, JAC spokesperson B Ibomcha said that Ronibala did not commit suicide and hence a report was filed with the police stating that Ronibala was murdered by her own husband.
Post mortem on Ronibala's corpse had been conducted and the JAC decided against claiming the body until the report of the post mortem is provided, he said and demanded handing over a copy of the post mortem report from the authority concerned.
He also warned that the JAC along with Meira Paibis would launch intense agitation if the demand is not met.
The public meeting also resolved for handing over the case to a central investigating agency like CBI in view of conflicting claims and suspicious nexus between family of Ronibala's husband and doctors who carried out the post mortem.
