Imphal, November 08 2023:
While decrying circulation of uncorrobo rated information on the social media handles and platforms in connection with the missing case of two Meitei teenagers has put Makhan village in poor light, Makhan Village Authority likened such wild allegation as an act of aggression and war not only on Makhan village but on the entire Naga community.
In a release, Makhan village authority chairman Ab Amang stated that the false accusation has tarnished the name of the village and the village authority will not tolerate such malicious statement at any cost.
"We have the solid proof, evidence and confirmation at our disposal that one X (twitter) handle named 'Separation Only Solution' (posted at 11:26pm, 7th Nov, 2023) and one Instagram account named 'Farewell Manipur' are circulating the allegations," Amang said, while denouncing unfounded allegation as foolish act of cowardice that deserves rebuke of the highest degree.
Demanding to rectify it within 24 hours, he cautioned that the village authority will resort to democratic yet stringent ways that might indefinitely hamper or restrict any movement of people or vehicle in and around Makhan village and its territory with or without notice if rectification along with apology is not tendered.
This shall lead to prevention of any escalation of undesired events and consequences, Amang said, while adding that the village authority should not be held responsibility for any eventualities that could or might arise in case of failing to tender an apology within a time frame.
Pointing out that Makhan is a peaceful and friendly village and holds no allegiance to either of the conflicting groups, he stated that they have always been upholding and respecting neutrality and will continue to do so.
However, such tolerant attitude should not be mistaken for weakness, he made it clear.
