Imphal, September 08 2014:
The All Tribal Disabled Union, Manipur (ATDUM) has strongly opposed the case filed against Disabled Commissioner, L.Ibomcha by certain individuals accusing the Commissioner as incapable of performing his duties well.
Interacting with media persons at the ATDUM office located at Nagaram, Imphal, general secretary of the tribal disabled union T.Chuongsin told that the case was filed accusing the Commissioner of not doing his duties.
He was also accused of blocking the path of the disabled persons in their endeavor which according to the tribal disabled union is unfounded and baseless.
The general secretary of ATDUM claimed that the commissioner is a dutiful officer and has been working tirelessly for the welfare of the disabled people since the year 2000 and that the charges filed against the Commissioner is purely baseless.
The ATDUM leader then said that after the state government had established a disability cell under the Social Welfare Department in 2000, L.Ibomcha was appointed as the Field Investigator for disabled persons and then again in 2005, he was promoted as Welfare Officer for the disabled.
